Getting to know Maribel Aheran

Is it difficult for you to identify and recognize your positive qualities? Do you often feel that most things going wrong are your fault, leading you to assume responsibility for them? Are you constantly having the same thoughts and fears about future situations? I empower children and adults by providing psychoeducation and coping skills to overcome symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and I explore how these conditions can be interconnected. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play/Art Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Therapy in my practice. With a Master's in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and an EdD in Educational Leadership and Administration from Edgewood College, I bring a strong educational foundation to my work. I am empathetic, easy to talk to, and passionate about searching for the root of the problem. I look forward to meeting you soon!

What should a new client know about working with you?

After the first session, clients can expect to have a sense of direction about how to work on their problems. They can also expect to feel understood.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
