Getting to know Maribel Uribe

Hi there, I'm Maribel! Hi! My name is Maribel Uribe (She/Her/Ella), and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from National University. By providing safe and non-judgmental support and encouragement, I assist my clients as they heal and reach their goals. We are so often impacted by previous experiences, and we don't always understand how those experiences influence and impact our present. My goal is to support my clients so they gain insight and realize their options. My approach My approach to therapy varies depending on each client's individualized perspective. I frequently come from an Object Relations Therapy lens. I believe having a better understanding of our childhood experience, without judgment, can help us understand our present situation. I also use different evidence-based modalities, including CBT, EMDR, DBT, solution-focused, and Gottman therapy. I am dedicated to assisting clients in learning skills, gaining insight, and experiencing a sense of personal growth and healing so they can navigate their future. My focus My clients come from diverse cultural backgrounds and face individualized challenges. I find success working with teens, at-risk adolescents, young adults, military service members, and their families. I have assisted clients dealing with depression, anxiety, work stress, PTSD, life transitions, grief and loss, family of origin trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, gender identity and sexuality, and relationship complications. My communication style My communication style is calm, accepting, and accommodating, and like my therapy approach, it varies depending on each client's individual care. I always check in first because I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing anything with me. I encourage my clients to come as they are and express themselves freely and openly. It is not my job to judge, offend, or tell my clients what to do or how to do it.
