Hi there, I'm Maricela! My name is Maricela Zuniga. I am a Latina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. After living on the Central Coast, I have returned to my roots in the Central Valley and am currently based in Bakersfield, CA, offering statewide treatment via Telehealth. I have experience working with families, adolescents, and adults managing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and life adjustment disorders using person-centered, CBT, narrative, and solution-focused treatments. My approach I structure therapy sessions around person-centered therapy, honoring each client’s individuality. I believe it’s important to let clients lead to identify the best approach. Narrative Therapy, CBT, TF-CBT, and Solution-Focused therapy often help clients find inner peace aligned with their goals. My focus I have found fulfillment connecting with adolescents and adults struggling to adjust to life stressors. Whether dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, life changes, grief, or family conflict, I believe walking alongside you can help make sense of your journey and find peace in your path. My communication style My tone during sessions is approachable, comforting, and inviting. I see it as my responsibility to create a safe environment where clients can authentically explore their internal world, make connections, and identify areas they are ready to change. My journey to therapy Growing up hearing about traumas impacting generations of my family, I learned the importance of breaking those cycles but struggled to find ways to stop these patterns.
