Getting to know Marilu Lemos

Hi there, I'm Marilu! My name is Marilu Lemos, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Visalia, California. I work with clients statewide via telehealth and locally through in-person sessions. I have a Master's in Psychology from Brandman University. I work with adults, adolescents, pre-teens, families, and couples addressing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, and stress-whether that might be home, work, school, or social challenges-as well as relationship dysfunction and conflict, trauma-focused and inner child healing. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, EMDR, and many others. My approach is eclectic to help my clients explore, process, and resolve mental health concerns that create barriers in their everyday life. My approach My approach to therapy is tailored to the needs of each client and often presents in an eclectic style. My frequent use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy helps me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and develop skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Clients also learn to increase emotional intelligence, which aids in improving social and relationship skills, whether romantic or interpersonal. This approach allows us to work together to manage challenges and create a path forward toward healing that feels comfortable and empowering for the client. My focus I have found that my style and approach make my clients feel hopeful and motivated to begin their healing journey and develop a better quality of life as they explore, process, and resolve impairing life experiences. I work to help my clients navigate these experiences and provide a safe space where they feel empowered and confident in their healing as they develop coping skills and understanding to manage their feelings and experiences.
