Getting to know Marilyn Bereski

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with over 40 years of clinical experience. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with all age groups in a wide range of settings. As I’ve grown into my senior years, I’ve dedicated my focus to older adults and the unique challenges and transitions that can come with aging. I also have extensive experience supporting survivors of trauma and toxic relationships, and I’ve successfully treated anxiety and depression.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is nonjudgmental, collaborative, and client-centered. This is your story and your healing journey, and my role is to provide resources and tools to help you achieve your personal goals. I use mindfulness exercises and coping skills to support you in managing life’s stressors, rebuilding confidence, and reframing negative thought patterns. Together, we can set small, achievable daily goals and work toward larger goals over time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about your goals for therapy. It will be a relaxed conversation, with no pressure to share anything that feels uncomfortable. We’ll also review how therapy works and what you can expect moving forward. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and that your feelings are validated. We’ll begin this journey together and move at your pace.
