Marina Litinsky, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I help adults break free from narcissistic abuse, toxic relationship patterns, and high-conflict family dynamics so they can stop living in confusion, self-doubt, and emotional survival mode. I’m Dr. Marina Litinsky, LPC, and for more than 15 years I have worked with adults who find themselves repeating the same painful relationship patterns—whether in dating, marriage, divorce, family relationships, or after leaving emotionally abusive partners. Many of these patterns begin much earlier in life, often rooted in childhood experiences with emotionally unavailable, controlling, or narcissistic caregivers, even when we do not fully recognize the connection. I work with adult children of narcissistic parents, individuals navigating toxic partnerships, high-conflict divorce, trauma bonds, people-pleasing, gaslighting, and the lasting effects of relational trauma. Many of my clients are high-functioning and successful on the outside, yet internally feel exhausted, hypervigilant, and disconnected from themselves. They often come to therapy after years of trying to fix relationships that continue to leave them blamed, drained, or emotionally unsafe. My approach is warm, direct, and highly practical. Therapy is not about vague advice or simply “coping better.” It is about understanding patterns clearly, rebuilding self-trust, strengthening boundaries, and making decisions rooted in reality rather than guilt, fear, or manipulation. I provide secure telehealth therapy for adults across Texas. As a private-pay practice, I am able to offer highly personalized, confidential care without the limitations often created by insurance-driven treatment models. My focus is depth, clarity, and meaningful long-term change—not rushed, one-size-fits-all care. My goal is to help clients move from confusion and emotional survival into confidence, peace, and lasting freedom.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is both practical and deeply insight-oriented. I believe therapy should help you understand what is happening right now in your life, while also helping us uncover the deeper patterns that keep repeating underneath it. Many people come in focused on a difficult partner, high-conflict family member, divorce, dating struggles, or chronic anxiety in relationships. Very often, those current struggles connect to patterns that began much earlier—usually in childhood, within the family system we learned to survive in before we were old enough to question it. We develop coping strategies that helped us then, but those same patterns can quietly create pain in adult relationships until we understand and change them. Especially in the early stages of therapy, I focus on giving clients practical tools they can use right away to reduce stress, regain stability, and better manage relationships with high-conflict people. When you are living inside chaos, clarity and immediate relief matter. We work on boundaries, communication strategies, emotional regulation, and ways to protect your peace while we also do the deeper long-term work. My work combines psychoeducation, practical tools, and deeper emotional work. I help clients understand narcissistic abuse, high-conflict personalities, trauma bonds, boundary breakdowns, and unhealthy relational dynamics while also helping them rebuild self-trust, emotional safety, and healthier relationship choices. My style is warm, direct, honest, and focused on meaningful long-term change—not vague advice or surface-level coping.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin with a free phone consultation before scheduling an intake appointment. This gives us a chance to discuss what brings you in, answer questions on both sides, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. During that conversation, I may ask a few questions about your current concerns, and I also encourage you to ask your own questions about my approach, and what to expect. I explain the overall process, scheduling, paperwork, and next steps. From there, we can decide whether to schedule a full intake appointment, or you may take time to think about whether it feels like the right fit for you. The phone consultation is separate from the intake, which is a 90-minute appointment and is often very eye-opening for clients. We explore your history, family of origin, relationship patterns, emotional triggers, and the ways your past may still be shaping your present. We talk about how you grew up, the roles you learned to play, and the coping strategies you developed to survive difficult environments. By the end of that first full session, clients usually leave with much more clarity and a stronger understanding of what may be happening beneath the surface, along with a clearer sense of what our treatment options look like moving forward. Regular therapy sessions are 50 minutes and are typically scheduled once a week to create momentum and meaningful change. Therapy is twofold. Especially in the early stages, I focus on practical tools you can use right away to reduce stress, manage high-conflict relationships, improve boundaries, regulate emotions, and protect your peace. At the same time, we begin the deeper work of understanding emotional patterns, relationship patterns, and the ways early family dynamics continue to shape present choices, reactions, and relationships. Over time, that deeper exploration becomes even more important—helping you not only feel better in the moment, but create lasting change in how you relate to yourself and others.
