Getting to know Marina Tonkonogy

I’m a California-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals who feel emotionally disconnected, culturally displaced, or quietly out of step with the world around them. I don’t approach therapy as a set of tools to fix what’s broken. I see it as a relational space where clarity emerges through thoughtful, honest exploration. My orientation is psychodynamic and insight-based, drawing from Jungian and existential traditions. I often work with those who feel emotionally or culturally out of place or people who long for connection but refuse to compromise depth or integrity to find it. While I welcome clients from all backgrounds, I’m especially attuned to immigrants who feel culturally displaced, individuals living with chronic emotional loneliness, those who seek meaningful connection without self-erasure, and people who feel politically or socially silenced in their communities. If this speaks to you, I invite you to reach out.
