Marisa Burns, LMHC

Psychotherapist
MA
Hi! My name is Marisa, and I am an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) residing in Massachusetts. I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State University in 2018. I have been practicing in the mental health and human services field across a variety of settings, including outpatient, crisis stabilization units, and residential care. I have experience working with adults facing a wide range of mental health and substance abuse disorders. My approach is person-centered, aiming to create a compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed space where individuals can fully express themselves. I believe each person is the author of their own story, and therapy provides support in navigating it-you are the expert of yourself. I have supported individuals dealing with life stressors, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and borderline personality disorder. My style is eclectic, combining interventions such as CBT and DBT. I also utilize humor to build common ground with clients and connect through the shared human experience.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
