What should a new client know about working with you?

Beginning therapy is a meaningful step, and I want you to know that you are welcome exactly as you are. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, navigating a difficult transition, or simply looking for support in better understanding yourself, therapy can provide a space for growth, healing, and change. I believe therapy is most effective when it is built on trust, collaboration, and a strong therapeutic relationship. My role is to walk alongside you, help you identify your goals, recognize your strengths, and develop practical tools that can support you both inside and outside of sessions. I believe that progress happens through small, consistent steps, and that every person has the ability to create positive change. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and CASAC with experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, trauma, addiction, depression, relationship challenges, stress, life transitions, and personal growth. My clinical background includes experience in addiction treatment and private practice, allowing me to work with a diverse range of clients and concerns. My approach to therapy is integrative and personalized. I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy. I believe that every individual has a unique story, and therapy should be tailored to your experiences, values, and goals. Together, we may work on understanding thought patterns, managing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, processing past experiences, strengthening relationships, building confidence, and creating healthier coping strategies. I strive to provide a supportive environment where you can challenge unhelpful patterns, gain new perspectives, and develop skills that help you navigate life's challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first step is reaching out and scheduling an initial appointment. During our first session, we will focus on getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, and exploring your current challenges, goals, strengths, and areas where you would like to see growth. This is an opportunity for us to begin building a therapeutic relationship and for you to get a sense of my approach and how we can work together. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative. After learning more about your experiences and goals, we will work together to create a personalized treatment plan. This may include identifying specific areas of focus, developing practical goals, and choosing therapeutic approaches that best support your needs. Every person’s journey is different, so treatment is tailored to your individual experiences, values, and pace. Throughout our work together, sessions will provide a safe and supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and life experiences. We may work on managing anxiety, processing trauma, improving emotional regulation, building healthier coping strategies, navigating life transitions, strengthening relationships, or creating more balance in your daily life. I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy. These approaches allow us to better understand patterns, develop new skills, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful change.
