Marisa Nieves, LCSW

Psychotherapist
VA
My name is Marisa Nieves, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Fayetteville State University. We face many unexpected obstacles in life. Sometimes it's difficult to navigate different stages, manage challenges within our relationships, or handle being pulled in multiple directions, leaving us unsure where to start. These experiences can make us feel out of control, overwhelmed, or inadequate. My approach I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a unique method that helps challenge negative beliefs and feelings. This approach supports a wide range of symptoms, including depression, anxiety, stress, and life transitions. My focus I work with individual adults to help them shift toward positive beliefs about themselves-recognizing their worth, understanding they deserve good things, and acknowledging they are doing their best despite life's obstacles. Life is made up of countless puzzle pieces, and my role is to help you sort through those pieces so you can continue creating your unique puzzle. My communication style I create a comfortable and casual environment where we can openly discuss some of the most challenging concerns you bring to therapy.
