Getting to know Marisol Cruz
My name is Marisol Cruz, and I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Chicago State University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have 24 years of experience working as a school counselor with children from kindergarten through 12th grade, supporting students with various diagnoses. My main objective is to help students by supporting and guiding them so they can maintain a daily routine in school and other environments. I develop partnerships where children and adolescents are actively involved in fostering personal growth and development in their lives.
I also work with families to create home environments that establish routines, enabling changes to be implemented so children and adolescents feel supported and accountable. Additionally, I provide services for adults dealing with depression, anxiety, relational support, and more. As a counselor, I offer wraparound services to help families access the resources they need to live productive lives.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Sessions will focus on the clients and their immediate needs. At the start of the sessions, we will discuss anything that is on their mind then concentrate on the main goal of the therapy session and work together towards meeting expectations. The therapeutic process will be empathetic, and compassionate, and the client should feel safe to express themselves in a non-judgmental environment.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
