Getting to know Marisol Solano

Hello, my name is Marisol Solano, my preferred gender pronouns are her/ella, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Northridge. I have experience working in adult outpatient mental health settings. My approach I approach therapy with care and positive regard. I believe the past influences the present, but therapy can help reshape your future. The most common theoretical approaches I use are psychodynamic, trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My focus I have nearly 10 years of experience working with adults facing alcohol and substance use issues, trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, and anxiety, to name a few. I am comfortable treating relationship issues, depression, parenting challenges, as well as gender dysphoria. My communication style I prefer a relaxed environment. I have been told I have a calm, nurturing, and comforting tone. I like to create a safe space by balancing the art of conversation with therapeutic and mindfulness techniques. You should feel validated, accepted, and empowered when working with me. My journey to therapy I started with a passion for curiosity. I wondered about people's stories and why they act the way they do. As I grew older, I was naturally a good listener and allowed people to develop deeper conversations with me. After college, I was devoted to social justice issues and wanted to focus on mental health. I found my drive and calling finishing my Master's degree in social work.
