Hello and welcome! My name is Marissa Herrera, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working virtually in Georgia. My treatment approach is tailored to each individual, utilizing trans-theoretical models such as solution-focused behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and embracing change therapy. I have a passion for helping individuals who are ready to reconnect with themselves. I believe everyone has the capacity to find their own truth, challenge negative belief systems, and discover more about their capabilities. My specialties include working with individuals facing cultural and gender identity challenges, adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, neurodevelopmental needs, and life stage changes.

I am client-centered and meet individuals where they are. I use various modalities depending on the client’s needs, including SFBT, CBT, MI, and more.

I have found my style and approach work well for adults dealing with mood disorders, gender identity issues, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions. My main focus is to empower each individual’s capability system and promote healthy life management.
My communication style
I provide a safe and supportive environment for each client. I want everyone who works with me to feel heard, seen, and supported. I believe the most important part of therapy is having the right fit between therapist and client.
