Getting to know Marjorie Berry Simon

Hi there! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience helping people work through challenges like mild to moderate anxiety, ADHD, burnout, stress, and sleep issues. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients directly, leading clinical teams, and mentoring future therapists through graduate programs. These experiences have helped me provide care that’s not only evidence-based but also deeply respectful of your unique background and needs. I truly understand how tough things can feel sometimes, and I’m here to offer compassionate, personalized support. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, break down barriers, and move toward healing, growth, and the life you deserve.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In your first therapy session, you can expect a warm and friendly conversation about what brings you to therapy at this time. We’ll explore any concerns or questions you might have, as well as what you hope to see manifest in your life. Together, we’ll identify goals for our work together. There’s no need to have all your goals lined out or to know exactly what your future vision looks like; we can collaboratively navigate this journey. My aim is to help you craft your personal roadmap, providing support and guidance as you discover the path that feels right for you. If you are seeking CBT-I for insomnia, I ask that you meet with your physician prior to scheduling to attain clearance from them to proceed. I do not practice sleep restriction techniques.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As a therapist, my greatest strengths lie in my clinical knowledge and extensive experience, paired with a genuine sense of compassion, humor, and flexibility. I believe that clients should be in control of their treatment, and I am adept at switching modalities and approaches to meet your individual needs and desires. I excel at providing the right balance of support, knowing when to gently push you forward and when to simply lend an ear. I highly value authenticity, transparency, and integrity in our therapeutic relationship, as these principles foster trust and openness. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel understood and empowered to explore your thoughts and feelings, allowing for meaningful growth and healing. The clients I'm best positioned to serve: I specialize in assisting people with mild to moderate concerns related to stress, anxiety, and insomnia. I genuinely enjoy working with individuals navigating life transitions, processing work-related stress, and exploring relationship patterns. I understand that these challenges can be overwhelming and often trigger intense feelings, leaving you searching for meaning and clarity in your life. My goal is to provide a supportive and empathetic space where you can reflect on your experiences, gain insights, and identify your strengths. Together, we will work to help you grow as an individual and create a fulfilling life that aligns with your values and aspirations.
