Getting to know Marjorie Kurtz

Hello! I’m Margie. My love of the arts and engaging in the creative process for healing and personal growth naturally led me to the field of therapy. I see the therapeutic process as infinitely creative! My practice draws from training in art therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), mindfulness practice/philosophy, and somatic awareness. I also incorporate aspects of Jungian practices, including dreamwork, the use of archetypes and symbols for meaning making, as well as guidance and support in the experiential practice of Active Imagination. Being that each person enters therapy with their own unique perspectives and needs, we will work together to incorporate the tools that are most effective for accomplishing your goals. It’s easy to lose touch with the innate creative energy and playfulness that we all possess. We get weighed down in chronic patterns of stress and exhaustion. The 'shoulds', self-criticism, limiting narratives, and dysfunction in our relationships keep us stuck and disconnected. I believe that therapy has the potential to allow access to our true nature- the space of wholeness where there is infinite potential for growth, empowerment, and evolution. It’s never too late to rediscover what may seem lost or even at times irrelevant. Maybe loss, pain, or disappointment seem too overwhelming. I hope we can start a conversation that will encourage you on your journey to living your best life. I would like to partner with you to provide a creative space where you will have the chance to listen deeply to yourself, be curious, find your voice, and be empowered!

What should a new client know about working with you?

In therapy sessions I hope to provide a space where you feel comfortable processing thoughts and feelings which you feel are relevant to your healing process. I want our meetings together to be a useful time of exploration and healing that will help you reach your treatment goals and lead to greater self-awareness and contentment in your life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
