Getting to know Mark Kuntz

Hi there, I'm Mark! My name is Mark Kuntz, and I am a licensed clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. My area of focus is adults and older adults dealing with grief and loss, role transitions, interpersonal conflict, depression, anxiety, and trauma. My approach I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Motivational Interviewing techniques in my work. My focus I typically work with clients experiencing grief or loss, role transitions, interpersonal conflict, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My communication style My goal is to create a safe environment where clients can identify issues negatively impacting their daily lives. Together, we develop a treatment plan to improve coping skills and manage these stressors effectively. My journey to therapy My journey as a therapist began working in a hospital and later as a Hospice Social Worker, supporting clients with acute, chronic, and life-threatening illnesses. Over the years, I have also worked with clients experiencing homelessness, anxiety, and depression. These experiences have shaped my supportive and encouraging style, motivating clients to recognize and pursue opportunities for positive change. My goals for you Goal setting is a collaborative process. First, we identify the agreed-upon problems, then establish goals and expected outcomes to address those challenges. My first session with you During our first session, I will get to know your needs and expectations, conduct an initial assessment, review confidentiality and its limits, and set clear expectations for treatment.
