Joy has been trained in EMDR therapy since 2008, as well as in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and the Flash Technique for trauma processing. Joy’s style is one of empathy, understanding, nonjudgment, and acceptance—motivational and positive, with a gentle nudge from time to time! She likes to empower people to find their own internal and external resources to get through challenging times, paired with skill-building to help manage and reduce symptoms and foster empowerment. In her spare time, Joy enjoys hiking, kayaking, and snorkeling when she’s outdoors. Indoors, she likes to read, listen to music, and play the piano.
