Marla Seals, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Marla! My name is Marla Seals, and I have 15 years of experience providing clinical therapy in community mental health, inpatient behavioral health hospitals, and state and county correctional facilities. My unique experience allows me to hold space for individuals with many needs. I hold a Master’s in Forensic Psychology and a Master’s in Public Health from The Chicago School, enriching my understanding of the complex factors influencing mental health. My approach Since there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy, I incorporate various evidence-based treatment modalities, techniques, and skills to best meet your individual needs. I have 15 years of experience collaborating with individuals presenting with trauma, anxiety, depression, and family and relationship conflict. I use a 4-phase approach: Phase 1—Diagnostic Assessment, Phase 2—Treatment Planning, Phase 3—Active Treatment, and Phase 4—Transition/Discharge. In each phase, we will collaboratively discuss your past, present, and vision of your future self. My focus While I treat individuals from all socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds, I have dedicated my career to providing quality therapeutic services to marginalized communities, including Black single mothers, justice-involved individuals, and those navigating challenges of urban living. My communication style I bring a down-to-earth, approachable presence to therapy and prioritize fostering a warm, friendly, yet professional relationship with you. Developing a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation that supports you as we explore pathways toward healing, develop adaptive coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and help you experience a more fulfilling life, rather than just exist.
