Getting to know Martha Laska

Hello, I'm Marty. Life is both an incredible adventure and so unbearably hard that we are not sure what way to turn next. Sometimes people, even people who love us, make it so much more difficult. Sometimes we seem to be making choices that make things worse when all we are doing is trying to feel better or be true to ourselves. There can be moments when we just need someone to listen, really listen. Listening and then helping others to figure out what is best for them is why I love being a counselor. I have always been interested in all kinds and ages of people. That is when I knew I wanted to be a counselor. I hold an MA and am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I see adults of all ages, teens of all ages, veterans, people with drug or alcohol problems (or even those who think they might have a problem but are not sure), and survivors of trauma. I also specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, intimate relationship issues, life transitions, medical issues, phobias, stress, and trauma. Additionally, I have a deep commitment to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and those exploring their gender identity. Along the way, I discovered how much I admire and continue to have the greatest respect for anyone working to overcome a challenge of any kind. I believe in a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, where we work together to find the best path forward for you. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard and understood, and where we can explore your thoughts and feelings openly.
