Getting to know Martha Marquez
I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida with over 18 years of experience, having worked in various settings and management roles. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I hold LMHC, MCAP, ACS, and CGAC credentials. As an approved provider, I am a clinical member of the American Counseling Association, the Dialectical Behavior Therapy National Certification and Accreditation Association, and EMDRIA.
My primary focus has been on addictions and co-occurring conditions, working with both adolescents and adults to manage all aspects of substance-related or addictive disorders. I have also worked with diverse populations and issues, providing counseling in individual, family, and group settings. I have helped clients successfully address a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, career challenges, gender identity, and LGBTQI+ matters. Additionally, I have supported many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I do not endorse stigmatizing labels. I practice a blended, technically eclectic model of evidence-based therapies grounded in strengths-based philosophies. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, humanistic, and solution-focused counseling. I tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
