Getting to know Martin Deza

Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #106348) and have worked in the field since 2011. I grew up in the San Diego area and have worked in a variety of clinical settings in my local community. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and my Master's Degree in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. My experience includes working with individuals, couples, and teenagers (ages 12 and up) in various settings, including inpatient psychiatric facilities, outpatient programs, residential treatment facilities for mood and addiction issues, and as part of an emergency crisis team. These experiences have allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients experiencing various mental health concerns and psychosocial issues. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with clients struggling with addiction and substance use issues, as well as trauma, depression, anxiety, and immediate crisis intervention.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a collaborative approach with my clients working to identify current problem areas and correlate them to treatments goals. Through this process I will work with you step by step towards achieving treatment goals, providing support, and identifying and managing barriers along the way.As we build trust, enhance coping skills, and better manage distressing symptoms, personal growth and a higher value of self can be achieved.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
