Mary Abbott, LCSW

Psychotherapist

Life can be really hard. When things get tough, we all need some extra guidance and support. I understand that asking for help takes courage. I strongly believe in meeting my clients where they are-not where others think they should be. I strive to validate my clients' feelings and assist them in gaining insights into their behaviors and choices. I know how important the therapist-client relationship is. Building trust and rapport is essential for a client to feel comfortable enough to embark on a journey of change. Creating a judgment-free environment is crucial. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Aurora University and have 30 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in many settings and with a wide variety of populations. The most rewarding has been working with my clients in my private practice. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families in schools for the past 27 years. I opened my practice almost 15 years ago and have served a wide variety of clients of all ages and stages in life as well as change. Each client is unique and deserving of having a person who will listen with empathy and provide the support and guidance to assist them in achieving their goals. I am that person, and I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
