Getting to know Mary E. Hoover

Mary is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over thirty years of experience working with adults facing substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship problems. She earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University. Mary is also a Certified, Level Three, TEAM Cognitive and Behavioral Therapist through the Feeling Good Institute.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Mary begins therapy by developing a warm and friendly connection with clients, so they feel comfortable and at ease. When the client is ready to get started, she helps them develop a treatment plan using simple and effective CBT techniques. CBT therapy does involve working hard in sessions and doing homework in between sessions. Mary’s clients can feel better quickly, if they are willing to commit to the recovery process. Mary uses "Mood Survey" tests to measure client improvement.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
