Getting to know Mary Fierro

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and a PhD in Psychology from Temple University. For more than 25 years, I have been working with people seeking to make meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we have addressed a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, family or work stressors, relational and communication issues. I also support individuals who have experienced trauma, live with chronic medical conditions, face difficult situations, or have lost someone close to them. My counseling style is conversational and interactive, incorporating a cognitive-emotional-behavioral, solution-focused, body-based approach. We work at a pace that feels comfortable for you and respects your values, culture, beliefs, and goals. Everyone deserves support, whether they are working to create change or coping with changes they did not choose. If you have identified areas in your life that might benefit from attention and intervention, I would be honored to work with and support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Together we will identify the challenges you face, as well as your goals - where you want your life to be a month, 6 months, a year from now. Then we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there! You'll also get a bit more understanding of what you're currently facing, but with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be suggestions for homework!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
