As a licensed counselor with almost 20 years of experience, I like to find out what interests you about counseling and what you hope to gain from your experience. By taking small steps, you can build confidence in your ability to make the changes you desire when you come to therapy. The goal of counseling is to help you learn the skills and tools to become your own therapist. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University. My background as a licensed counselor is in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which means using your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help create the changes you want in your life. I also have experience in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and treating trauma. Other issues I have worked with in therapy include anger, stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and OCD.
