Matthew Raspanti, LMHC

Psychotherapist
MA
The foundation of my approach is rooted in building connection and trust- if you are looking for someone who is both direct and compassionate, I believe I can support you in finding ways to navigate your pain, whether emotional or physical. My approach My priority is to be there for you and understand your concerns and needs by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I want you to feel empowered in our sessions, so that you may accomplish your goals, and more so be curious and brave in viewing your experiences from new perspectives, to help you heal and grow. My focus I work with adults to address issues related to anxiety, depression, chronic pain, substance use, and relationship difficulties. I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet your needs, emphasizing self-awareness and collaboration. I identify your strengths, practice new skills with you, and help you refine existing coping strategies. My communication style My communication is warm, direct, and compassionate. I am collaborative and listen first to understand, reflecting back what you share with me to facilitate and validate your concerns. My journey to mental healthcare I was working in one of the large hospital systems in Boston, and realized as I was working with patients in a non-clinical role, I was not able to meet their emotional needs, both because I was not in the appropriate role, and because I did not have the skills. This drove me to examine my own personal journey with physical and mental health that I could use as a foundation with the skills that I would later learn to support my clients with their own journeys, which was and has been fulfilling in allowing me to see people see their own growth and selves more, through modeling consistency and showing them I truly care.
