Maudi Mills, LMFT

Maudi Mills, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I knew early on I wanted to help; I wanted to be a helper. I felt an alignment and affinity to the professions of missionary, teacher, and counselor. As a pre-teen growing up in the South Bronx, these vocations were meaningful, empowering, and inspiring to me. I had first-hand experience and witness to the hardships, challenges, and barriers my community faced. I knew I wanted to support, connect, and be an instrument to promote hope and change. My approach to care is grounded in a humanistic and holistic perspective with a strength-based, client-centered, needs-driven focus. There is an emphasis on finding the balance and connectedness of physical, spiritual, and mental well-being. I believe everyone brings a unique story; their story and the approach taken must be individualized. Every issue, conflict, or challenge has a story, and the job of a helper and healer is to uncover that story. This work is about uncovering possibilities. Its success is determined by you and for you. My background in this important work has been in community mental health, dedicated to serving a diverse, underserved, and disenfranchised community of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. I have provided direct care as well as served in administrative roles. I hold a Master's degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate University and a Bachelor's degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I remain committed to continuing this work by providing a space created to promote exploration for healing, growth, learning, and inner peace.
