Maxine Wilborn, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
At times, everyone needs help coping with life events. As an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, I enjoy providing individuals, couples, and families with skills they can readily use for current and future challenges. Individual and personal strengths can be complemented with tools to achieve a well-balanced and healthy mental health lifestyle. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I offer tools and approaches to help achieve personal goals and well-being. My approach I work with individuals, families, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, crisis, self-esteem issues, trauma, abuse, and relationship needs. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered approaches, mindfulness, and behavior analysis. My focus I enjoy working with all populations through person-centered therapy. My communication style I engage in talk therapy, opening sessions where the client feels comfortable. My journey to mental healthcare In my previous career, I was the VP of HR for a large corporation in North America. With my BS in Psychology, a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Walden University, a natural progression was to deepen my expertise in counseling. I have always been interested in advocating for individuals through true empathy and an altruistic approach. My goals for you Goals are set by the client with the assistance of the clinician. My first session with you The initial visit is a fact-finding session to determine current stressors or needs. It is open and casual.
