Getting to know Maya Attia
Before becoming a therapist, I was a voice teacher. I quickly realized my students wanted more than a voice lesson: they craved a safe place to express their feelings. So I felt called to provide a comforting environment where people can embody, explore, and learn about themselves without judgment or shame.
I work with adults and couples of various sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship dynamics, and lifestyles. I'm sex-positive, kink-allied, and gender-affirming, and I specialize in supporting couples where one partner is on the spectrum. While in session, I invite you to share via musical or artistic mediums as desired.

What should a new client know about working with you?
Supporting couples and individuals exploring ethical non monogamy, kink and BDSM and exploration of gender. My practice is sex-positive, LGBTQ+ affirming, polyamory, kink, and BDSM friendly. I offer space to express, explore, and learn about your whole self to find ease.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach is humanistic, tender and experiential. I facilitate conversations and new experiences. I use an attachment lens to help you gain new insight about yourself and make meaningful changes to your life.

I was desperately looking for a therapist and a friend of mine “strongly” recommended Maya.
Most of my life I’ve treated with male providers of all kinds, who have dismissed so many of my concerns. Meeting Maya has been the ultimate “blessing”. She really listens to you and is invested in your mental health and overall wellbeing. As a woman, this is important. Maya makes you feel heard and she’s gentle with her techniques and super patient. She will ask you some probing questions. But she will never push your boundaries or make you feel uncomfortable.
Her treatment has been the best treatment as I have been able to slowly heal and return to myself. I’m still working on myself and having Maya by my side makes me feel more confident. I feel like I have an ally and she has proven this over and over again. If you’re looking for a really empathy driven therapist, give Maya a try. I am truly grateful for her.
