Getting to know Meagan Edwards

Hi, I'm Meagan Edwards, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler University. My degree, training, and specialties focus on repairing and enhancing relationships-both with ourselves and others. I work with individuals and families using holistic frameworks and consider the various systems that impact them. My approach My style is client-centered, utilizing systems frameworks in my practice. My focus Depression and anxiety are common among my clients. Many also come unsure of what's going on or what needs to change. I often work with clients experiencing acute or childhood trauma, family or relationship stress, and those seeking help with coping skills or anger management. My communication style I'm professional but avoid formality in therapy. This is your time and space-relax and be yourself. I am warm and relaxed but will also hold you accountable. We share the human experience, so we will laugh as well as cry. It's important you feel safe to express whatever comes up, including if something isn't working. My journey to therapy An unpopular belief: our relationships with others drive our well-being entirely. Your relationship with a therapist, when done well, can be transformative and proof of this. It is an honor to build a partnership with you, however temporary, on your journey. My goals for you This is your treatment-you run the show. I will have opinions about what might help you get what you want, but you may not agree or be ready yet. We will check in occasionally to ensure you're getting what you came for. My first session with you I will introduce myself briefly, and you may ask questions about my background. I like to spend time learning your history to better understand the person in front of me.
