I became a licensed mental health counselor in 1991. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Mary Washington. I see individuals and couples in an outpatient office, though I have extensive experience counseling adults and teens in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as conducting psychological testing. I specialize in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive traits, and I also provide therapy for individuals facing a variety of life stressors such as grief, health problems, work, and relationship issues. My primary approach is cognitive behavioral therapy, a method supported by years of research demonstrating its effectiveness. At the same time, I tailor treatment to the unique needs and personality of each individual. As a Christian, I approach counseling from this perspective without imposing my beliefs on clients. I believe my greatest strength is my ability to meet people where they are while guiding them toward their treatment goals in a way that honors their humanity. I truly consider it a privilege to be part of people's lives in this way. I am accepting new patients.
