Megan Miller, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello, I am Megan Miller Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been practicing as a therapist for over ten years in the Los Angeles area. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in Early Childhood Education for ten years. My approach I take a client-centered approach to the support I provide and value all of an individual's life experiences that have brought them to where they currently are. I am Endorsed by the State of California as an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and Reflective Practice Facilitator. My focus I have worked with individuals of all different ages ranging from infancy to late adulthood, with all different backgrounds and experiencing a range of symptoms. Many of the clients and families I have worked with live in the South Los Angeles area and the South Bay/Beach Cities. My communication style I believe it is important to provide a calm empathetic space for individuals to feel safe and comfortable to share about themselves. I am an active listener and use restating as a tool to make sure I have heard what the client wants to communicate and express in sessions. My journey to mental healthcare Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in Early Childhood Education for ten years. As I became more interested in trauma, and its effects I pursued a master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. Looking through an attachment-based lens I believe it is important to acknowledge and consider how early life experiences and generational experiences impact an individual. My goals for you Exploring and setting goals is something that starts early in services, however, can transform and be reassessed throughout services. I encourage clients to share and set goals that reflect what they would like to see take place during sessions and the change they would like to experience while attending therapy. My first session with you During our first session, we will explore what led you to therapy and the goals that you have for therapy.
