Getting to know Megan Quinn

Hi! My name is Megan Quinn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. I have over 5 years of clinical practice and am passionate about helping my clients find a sense of self, purpose, healing, and growth. My approach As we explore your goals and interests-whether self-discovery, inner peace, or any other concept-we will establish a care plan together. I draw from a multitude of therapeutic approaches, most commonly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, always from a client-centered perspective. My focus I work with clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and psychotic episodes. These symptoms can vary in severity and fluctuate greatly from day to day. My goal is to help each client understand their own symptoms, triggers, and coping skills. My communication style The environment I strive to create with each client is one of understanding, acceptance, and freedom from judgment. Together, we will build a foundation of security and trust. I use empathy and a touch of humor, of course. It's important that clients feel able to share openly-not necessarily immediately, but eventually. This will be a safe space. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to helping others, though my path was a bit different than expected. I began undergrad planning to be a math teacher and quickly shifted to special education-a passion of mine. However, as I took more psychology courses and engaged in volunteer work, I became excited to explore mental health, how anxiety affected my life, and how trauma impacted those around me. This opened up a whole world of concepts and life experiences-how what affects us shapes the mind, body, and surroundings in interconnected ways.
