Getting to know Megan Roberson

Hello, I'm Megan. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can navigate life's transitions and challenges using mindfulness, self-compassion, and values-driven action. By teaching mindfulness skills and self-compassion, I aim to help you discover new ways to respond to difficult thoughts and life's challenges. Together, we can pivot your actions to focus on what truly matters to you as an individual. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with humanism, narrative therapy, systems theory, CBT, and supportive counseling. This means that I work to focus on your own individual history, strengths, and priorities; I work to consider and understand how you are impacted by various facets of your life; and I use therapeutic tools and techniques informed by what you're wanting to work on. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia with a Master's Certificate in Gerontology. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from the University of Georgia. With ten years of prior experience in social work and mental health, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families in various settings, including hospice, palliative care, oncology, skilled nursing, dementia care, and independent living for older adults. I have exclusively been working as a therapist since 2021. I specialize in working with adults, older adults, caregivers, and those coping with depression, anxiety, isolation, family stress, and severe and chronic illness. I am passionate about helping clients who feel overwhelmed and are looking to improve their coping mechanisms. My goal is to support you in finding balance and resilience in the face of life's challenges. If you're ready to take the next step towards a more mindful and compassionate life, I am here to support you on your journey. Let's work together to focus on what truly matters to you.
