Hello, I'm Melanie, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve emotional and mental well-being. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2010 and went on to complete my Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 2014. My journey in the field of mental health has been extensive, working in various social service and mental health agencies. I've had the privilege of working with adults, children of all ages, families, and couples, encouraging emotional and mental growth, self-awareness, and the development of healthy relationships. My therapeutic style is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), where I focus on building strengths and improving self-efficacy through both short- and long-term treatment. Additionally, I have training in Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), which allows me to help clients cope with negative life experiences and reach their full potential. I specialize in adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. When you work with me, you can expect a supportive and collaborative environment where we work together to identify and achieve your goals. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy art, reading, traveling, poetry, and listening to music. These hobbies help me stay grounded and bring a sense of balance to my life. I believe that therapy is a journey we embark on together, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. If you're ready to take the next step towards a healthier and more fulfilling life, I invite you to reach out and start this journey with me.
