Melanie Sturdivant, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
I have developed a strong passion for working with individuals to move towards their optimal well-being. Together, we'll work on finding joy in that journey. My approach I utilize Person-Centered approaches, which allow focus on the individual as a whole and a unique person. I also lean on Solution-Focused efforts to help support my clients in reaching their goals. My focus I work with individuals who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, and poor emotional regulation. Together, we can identify ways for you to feel more empowered to control unwanted feelings and emotions. My communication style I practice open and gentle, but honest communication. I leave room for self-reflection and thought, while providing my clinical guidance and insight. My journey to mental healthcare I have been drawn to being a therapist from a young age. I enjoy helping support people in their desire to better themselves and function as a happy, healthy, and whole individual. My goals for you I see the goals as a destination, and we can reach that destination by collaboratively identifying the navigation route to get to the end goal. My first session with you Our first session will consist of a discussion of what has prompted you to seek counseling at this time. I'll ask for some information about your current challenges, history, as well as your strengths and interests. The first session is a chance for me to know a little more about you.
