Psychotherapist
28515 Champions Ridge Rd, Magnolia, TX
I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who provides a supportive, respectful space where clients can explore their concerns, develop practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful goals. I especially enjoy supporting women, teen girls, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma-related concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My counseling style is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. I draw from person-centered counseling, cognitive behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship comes first. Once trust is established, I work with each client to identify clear goals and develop strategies that fit their needs, strengths, culture, and readiness for change. Although I recently received my Texas counseling license, I previously worked as a counselor at an international school abroad. That experience allowed me to support adolescents and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and strengthened my ability to approach each client with curiosity, flexibility, and respect. I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, License No. 103171, practicing under the board-approved supervision of Shannon Thomas, LPC-S.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect. During our first visit, I will focus on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to counseling, and learning what you hope to change. You will not be pressured to discuss anything before you feel ready. I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach supported by cognitive behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. Together, we will identify clear goals and develop practical tools for managing emotions, reducing stress, improving relationships, and navigating difficult situations. You can expect me to listen without judgment, ask thoughtful questions, and provide honest but compassionate feedback. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship should come before advice or problem-solving. Treatment will move at a pace that respects your readiness, strengths, culture, and individual needs. We will regularly review your progress and adjust our approach so that counseling remains useful and focused on the goals that matter most to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session follows my Back to Basics Method, with a special focus on helping teen girls and young women navigate life transitions. These transitions may include changes in school or college, relationships, family expectations, identity, confidence, independence, boundaries, or future plans. We begin with a comfortable check-in about what has been happening and what feels most important that day. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to discuss something before you feel ready. We will connect the current concern to your larger treatment goals and explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences affecting you. Sessions primarily involve talk therapy and may include person-centered counseling, cognitive behavioral strategies, solution-focused questions, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and practical coping skills. With younger clients, I may also use drawing, journaling, storytelling, or creative activities to make it easier to express difficult feelings. We end by identifying one realistic step, boundary, coping strategy, or communication skill to practice. My goal is to help you feel heard while developing the confidence and practical tools needed for your next stage of life.
