“I wish Zocdoc would have asked more questions about what I was looking for in a therapist but it did provide a large number of reviews which guided my choice. But I ended up with a great therapist and zocdoc as well as the Dr. reminded me of appointments. Zocdoc provides a representative to assist with any questions I might have regarding the Dr or any appointments. This was my first time using them and I was very happy. ”

Getting to know Melissa Albano

When you’re dealing with anxiety, loss, or ongoing stress, it can start to affect multiple areas of your life. Therapy can help you better understand what you’re going through and find ways to manage it more effectively. I’m a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I also work with couples looking to improve communication and strengthen their relationships, and I specialize in supporting individuals within the LGBTQ+ community as well as those exploring concerns related to intimacy and sex. Before focusing on outpatient therapy, I worked for many years as a medical social worker and care coordinator in hospital and community health settings. I have experience supporting individuals facing chronic illness, substance use, domestic violence, and psychiatric crises. This background allows me to take a more holistic approach, understanding how physical health, life stressors, and emotional well-being are all connected. My approach is warm, practical, and goal-oriented. I use evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused techniques to help you manage symptoms, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. Some clients come in looking for support with a specific challenge, while others want help navigating ongoing stress or change. We adjust the focus based on what feels most useful, so therapy stays relevant to your life. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported and understood, while also helping you build the tools and confidence to move forward.

This was my second appointment that was canceled by the provider because of no availability from three days prior twice that I picked two people that were from the same office and had to deal with the same thing not good not fair. I’m very frustrated and aggravated even more than I was before. That’s not helping my situation. I was informed that they didn’t update their office to the website, this is not what people are looking for very unprofessional, it seems to be the professionals need some help for their office and themselves. ?
