Hi there, I'm Melissa! Hi! I am Missy Davison, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I earned my Master?s in Counseling from Texas A&M University - Texarkana and have been practicing for over 15 years, treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and other life-related symptoms. I use evidence-based trauma treatments to help my clients. My base treatment is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe if we think about something long enough, we believe it and become it. Once we change our thoughts, we change our emotions and behaviors and begin healing. My approach My approach to therapy is based on my client?s needs. I use CBT because our thoughts are powerful, but we create them. You will learn to challenge and change your thoughts through ways that work best for you. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)?all evidence-based treatments to help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, and other stressors. My focus I love seeing teens and adults. It is my passion to work with clients who know there is more to life than constant anxiety, stress, depression, or feeling "stuck" because of life?s challenges or trauma. I have over 15 years of experience treating trauma and its effects. It?s an honor to support clients on their healing journey who want to make progress, heal, and truly start living. My communication style I aim to create a peaceful, calm, and relaxing environment. I have a warm, soft tone and personable approach. I am also very real. I won?t throw a bunch of ?therapeutic jargon? at you?I am as ?human? as you are but will use my experience and tools to help you. I want you to feel like you?re working with someone who listens, meets you where you are, and offers support without judgment.
