We all need someone to walk beside us during difficult times. Whether you are experiencing grief at the loss of a companion animal or experiencing fatigue in your work in the animal services field, I want to provide a safe and supportive environment for you. Through a client-centered and empathy-based approach, we can tailor sessions to meet your needs. I welcome you to reach out when you are ready to begin. My approach I provide an empathy-based approach by recognizing the importance of the human-animal bond. I offer a safe space for your feelings and provide the knowledge and skills to help you through your grief or fatigue. My focus Animals are not interchangeable possessions. I understand the unique feelings that arise through loss, anticipatory loss, and the fatigue of working with animal services. I will help you navigate your journey and find the path forward. My communication style Your story is my priority. All feelings are legitimate, and there is no "right way" to grieve or express yourself. I provide acceptance and support through education and coping skills. My journey to mental healthcare I've always had a love of animals and a desire to help people. I found the perfect professional combination during my doctoral work in Veterinary Social Work. My deep understanding of the human-animal bond and years of social work service gave me insight into helping people move through difficult times. My goals for you I am here to provide the support you need to move through this difficult time. We will begin with a framework of our time together that can be adjusted to meet your needs. My first session with you In our first session, I invite you to tell me as much of your story as you feel comfortable to share. We can develop a tentative outline of our time together based on your needs. It's normal to be nervous about the first session. We will take it one step at a time, together.
