Getting to know Melissa Lehrich

Hello, my name is Melissa Lehrich, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have an admiration for those who seek to heal and create a more meaningful life. My focus is to help individuals find peace in themselves and become aware of their inner strengths. We will work together to help you grow from your struggles, increase your quality of life, and move forward to where you would like to be. My treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively. My approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. My focus areas are depression, anxiety, aging, chronic illness, caregiving, family conflict, grief and loss, life transitions, and stress management. My communication style is to provide a neutral, safe space where I listen to your concerns and customize your treatment. My journey to therapy began with both my parents working in the helping field. Being a therapist was in my personality from the start. They encouraged open communication and talking about feelings, which inspired my passion for helping others. My goals for you involve goal setting as a roadmap to overcome challenges and achieve what you want in life. I believe collaborating together will strengthen our therapeutic alliance. We will work together to set attainable short-term and long-term goals. During our first session, we will get to know each other. I will ask questions like, "What brought you to therapy?" as well as about your history, education, relationships (family, romantic, friends), current living situation, and career. All these questions will help us set your goals.
