I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. Throughout my life, I have always valued helping others by providing a supportive environment and meeting people where they are. I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University. I believe that education, prevention, and intervention are important when assisting my clients to improve areas of their lives.
In practice, I take an integrated approach by incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with activities such as art, play therapy, reflective exercises, and more. I encourage mindfulness and ultimately guide clients toward finding the best possible ways to improve their lives. My goal for all my clients is to help them build the confidence to implement positive and manageable changes.
I have experience working in a community practice, individually and with families, serving clients ages 5 and up in an outpatient therapeutic setting. I have also worked with adult individuals in a residential setting who presented with severe and chronic mental illness. Additionally, I have worked in a behavioral therapy setting, assisting educational and behavioral changes for children ages 3-12 with Autism.
