Melissa Phillips, MS

Psychotherapist
NV
Hi there, I'm Melissa! I am Melissa Phillips, currently licensed in Washington and Nevada as a licensed therapist. I take an eclectic approach, meeting the client where they are and adapting my approach to their needs. My approach I have an eclectic approach, which means I'm going to meet you where you are. If today you need narrative therapy, that's where we're going to go. Maybe you need cognitive behavioral therapy?I'm going to meet you with the approach that will help, depending on your needs. If it works, we'll do more of it; if it doesn't, we won't. My focus I work with a variety of clients. Many of the clients I work with have concerns that are taboo or outside the societal norm of what's typically discussed with a therapist. Often, clients with sexuality concerns, fears, and phobias reach out to me because I provide a safe, unjudgmental environment for processing and growth. I am open to working with clients with various needs and concerns without hesitation. My communication style My tone in therapy is unique in that I do not put myself on an expert pedestal. Instead, I want my clients to understand that they are the experts in their own lives and should be in the driver's seat. For those of you who are wary that you aren't able to be in the driver's seat, think of it as a driver's ed car?I'm still going to be there helping you, but you're going to be in control. My journey to mental healthcare Therapy is something I truly invest in personally and professionally. I began my journey to become a therapist after an extensive search for help myself. There's nothing more discouraging than finding that you are unable to find secure, good help. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix and my Master's in Counseling from Mid-America Christian University.
