Mercianna Oliver, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Mercianna! I work with adults who are managing anxiety, depression, work stress, and life transitions, especially people who look like they have it all together on the outside but feel stuck or overwhelmed on the inside. My goal is to give you a space that is honest, supportive, and genuinely useful, not just an hour of nodding along. My focus I work well with adults who function well on paper but feel anxious, depleted, or stuck underneath it, the professional navigating work conflict or burnout, someone managing high-functioning depression while still showing up for everyone else, or a person working through a career transition, dating concerns, or self-worth issues. My approach I believe the stories we tell ourselves shape what we think is possible in our lives, so much of our work together centers on examining and reframing your self-talk and personal narrative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, psychodynamic, and Adlerian approaches, and I tailor the mix session to session. My communication style I'm warm, but I'm also direct. You'll get real reactions from me, as I'll gently name patterns when I notice them, even when that means asking a harder question. At the same time, I move at your pace and never push past what you're ready for. My goal is for sessions to feel like talking to someone who is fully in your corner. My journey to mental healthcare My path into this work grew out of a long-standing interest in how the stories people carry about themselves shape what they believe is possible for their lives. That curiosity carried me through a bachelor's in psychology at Xavier University of Louisiana, and both a master's and PhD in clinical mental health counseling from Mercer University.
