Meredith Vizzini, LPC

Psychotherapist
MD
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Charlottesville, Virginia. I was raised in Atlanta but moved to New Orleans in 2007. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans in 2015 and worked in New Orleans until 2022. One thing I am certain about is that daily life is stressful and full of challenges. I believe we can all use support to help us work through difficult experiences. I aim to create a calming, safe, and supportive environment where you can open up about whatever challenges you may be navigating. I focus on taking counseling one step at a time, as I feel this approach allows us to take achievable steps toward change that you can maintain in your daily life. I approach counseling from a person-centered and rational emotive behavioral therapy perspective. While we cannot change what we have experienced, we can challenge our beliefs and thought processes surrounding these experiences, which can lead to different emotional responses. Although rational emotive behavioral therapy is my primary approach, I may employ other techniques depending on your needs. I offer counseling exclusively via telehealth. My focus is working with people struggling with stress and anxiety. I also help individuals who face depression and self-esteem challenges. I see adults and teens 15 years and older and provide counseling in individual or couples formats.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect that I am a compassionate and understanding individual who is ready to listen to you. I see the counseling relationship as a partnership between you and me in which we will work together to explore and overcome the issues you feel you are facing, develop goals, and work methodically to achieve your goals. This is YOUR treatment and you have a say. I am someone who focuses on taking counseling one step at a time. Change is hard, and it is easy to get overwhelmed trying to make big changes or many changes all at once. So instead, I aim to help clients make simple and achievable changes that will last.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
