Getting to know Michael Henderson

Building a strong relationship with my clients, based on trust, support, and empowerment, is the key to my success as a psychotherapist! Practicing for over 16 years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I provide a strength-based approach to supporting my clients. My areas of specialization focus on trauma, self-esteem/self-worth, and emotional distress throughout one's life. I offer counseling support through individual, couples/marital, group, and family therapy. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 2000, where I specialized in Cross-Cultural Counseling. This specialization allows me to openly engage in counseling with individuals who identify with different cultures, ethnicities, and other cultural populations. I chose to become a psychotherapist because of my motivation to understand humanity and the many facets of what make us the unique individuals we are. This understanding is what I love most about my professional role as a psychotherapist… I have the opportunity to learn and grow from every individual I am fortunate enough to support.
