Hi there, I'm Michael! Hi, I'm Mike! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida who enjoys helping people become the best version of themselves. My approach I focus on normalizing each person’s unique experience and helping them see a path forward without judgment, while holding them accountable to do the work that promotes self-growth and healing. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and an eclectic mix of other therapeutic strategies, tailoring treatment to the individual because experiences are unique—and treatment is rarely one-dimensional. My focus I specialize in working with clients who suffer from anxiety or depression. I also have a unique perspective on internet and gaming addiction, along with the negative symptoms that can stem from those behaviors. Additionally, I enjoy coaching parents on these topics. My communication style I’m a friendly person, open to new experiences and people. I take my work seriously and strive to never make anyone feel judged. I hope that working with me feels like you’re supported and encouraged to do the work yourself, rather than feeling like all the work is being done for you. My journey to therapy I’ve always wanted to be a therapist. Since high school, people nicknamed me Dr. Dent. I grew up with a dent in my chest—scientifically called Pectus Excavatum. The “Dr.” part came from everyone coming to me to talk about tough topics—I’ve always been open-minded and friendly. The “Dent” part was something I was briefly bullied for but eventually accepted as part of who I am, developing my identity around it rather than avoiding it. After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of West Florida, I experienced depression, which led me to take a break from school and work jobs I ended up hating. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.
