Psychotherapist
CA
Whether you come on your own or as part of a couple, therapy is about partnership. We’ll set goals that matter to you, and as you gain new insights, we’ll adapt your plan to stay meaningful and supportive as you move toward where you want to be. My focus I work primarily with LGBTQIA+ clients, especially gay men and couples, many of whom come to therapy carrying burdens that are not always visible on the surface. These include anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, minority stress and marginalization, betrayal, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, loneliness and isolation. My approach I practice from an integrative framework informed by approaches such as Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic therapy, and systems theory. In practice, this provides a more holistic understanding of the many layers that shape your experience—from family, relationships, culture, and society to deeper emotional and physiological processes within. My communication style My goal is to create an atmosphere that invites every part of you to feel welcome and engaged—your strengths, your struggles, your uncertainty, and even the pieces you may not yet know how to put into words. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist to offer support for people who have carried far more than their share despite their best efforts. My work is rooted in the belief that suffering is not proof of weakness, struggle does not define worth, and that every life deserves more than endurance alone. My goals for you We'll not only develop a shared understanding of the issues at hand, we'll also create movement, tracking what is changing, what is getting in the way, and anything else needed to support you throughout your process. Our first session After introductions, I’ll invite you to share how life is feeling right now and related past experiences. During our discussion, you may begin to get a feel for the process and how it feels working together.
