Psychotherapist
MI
We are living in some very difficult times. It's hard to take it all in and find healthy ways to cope. My hope is that I'll be able to join you on your journey of healing by using therapeutic interventions and skill building. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you understand how negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Specifically, I utilize CPT and EMDR to support those struggling with complex trauma. I have been working with combat veterans for the last 8 years, focusing on trauma, substance abuse, relationship building, and other essential skills. I am trained in EMDR, CPT, CBT, ME, and DBT, and I am currently attending trainings for PE and Gottman. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Indiana University Bloomington. There are times in life when we face situations that require help to unravel. Sometimes we need support to cope and heal. We are not defined by our experiences-they happened, but now the question is how we move forward in a healthy way. Life is meant to be lived, not just survived. With the right tools in place, we can come back from anything.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients who may be struggling with symptoms of trauma and the effects it can have on their lives. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
