What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with are adults who look like they're managing and underneath are running on empty. They leaned on overwork, drinking, the internet, numbing, or willpower to hold it together, and it has stopped working. Many are just starting out life, in full swing, or getting older. What they share is a sense they're surviving their life instead of living it. Underneath is usually trauma, grief, or a loss of meaning they've never had room to voice, or time to unpack. I help by slowing things down, getting honest about what isn't working, and building toward a life that feels like yours, not someone else's idea of who you should be. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I draw primarily from ACT, relational and person-centered therapy, with practical skills when structure helps. Together we slow things down, notice patterns, clarify what matters to you, and turn insight into choices you can use outside the room. My work is trauma-informed and neurodivergence-affirming.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is a chance for us to slow things down and get a clearer picture of what brings you in, what has stopped working, and what you would like to be different. You do not need to tell your whole story at once. I'll ask questions, explain how I work, and make room for your questions too. We'll begin identifying what matters most and what might be useful right away. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, a little less alone with it, and clearer about what our next step could be.
